SECOR’s purpose statement is “Demonstrating God’s compassion to those experiencing financial need.” SECOR is committed to maintaining the dignity of the individuals and families served. Our vision originated from a faith based organization’s outreach and our value proposition to the community is simply an extension of a helping hand regardless of a client’s religious persuasion. Accordingly, we just want to come alongside those who are in need and do not require clients to participate in religious activities to receive services.
SECOR endeavors to provide temporary assistance providing one pathway for recipients to succeed long term and without dependence on assistance from charitable or government agencies. As unemployed, underemployed and low-income residents within the greater Denver metro area struggle to find a job that will support their families, SECOR provides a safety net with critical emergency assistance to prevent hunger and homelessness.
Our mission is simply this: Food for the Hungry; Compassion for All. Our food bank reaches out into several counties in Metro Denver with the majority of clients residing in Douglas, Elbert and Arapahoe Counties.
